The lodge is located at 362 Edgewater Farm
Lane in Dover, Delaware. It is on the East side of Dover, East of
Route 9, immediately North of Route 8. The location is private
and our parties always has the house to themselves. It is the
perfect place to relax and unwind with your hunting
party.
The Inn is not only a perfect destination for you, but also for your
four
legged friend. Dog runs are easily accessible right next to the
lodge with
lots of room for your dog(s) to run. Your gun dog will be in heaven
flushing or pointing dozens of birds each day. You and your dogs
will have
the ability to hunt your own private acreage at the preserve without
the
need to travel. In addition, dog training is available on the
grounds year
round. Get the young dog started right by getting him on some birds.
There is also ample cleaning and freezer space available for your
birds.
The Inn at Marshtown can only be truly appreciated when seen or
hunted in person. The lodge is very private and remote for this
area. It is only
house on this public road sits on a 1,000 acre farm. To the east is
the
19,000 acre, Bombay Hook Federal Wildlife Refuge. The numbers of
migratory waterfowl you will see sitting on the front porch add to
your stay. The second floor has a view across the refuge to the
Delaware River to watch ships traveling north to the ports of
Wilmington and Philadelphia. Our fields are located right out the
front door and when you hunt, you will be surrounded by other
grounds of the Preserve. Located only five miles from Dover, there
are several great restaurants or the casino at the Dover
International Speedway.
At the preserve, we limit the use of our fields to four hunters per
day.
We prefer to rent the Inn to only one group at a time so parties are
not
mixed.
The atmosphere can be described as extremely peaceful, pleasant, and
tranquil in every season of the year. Just try to imagine yourself
on the
front porch in the middle of nature relaxing after a hunt. You are
far
from the hustle and bustle of your normal everyday world. You could
be
rocking in a big comfortable rocking chair and relaxing and all the
while
listening to the sounds of the wild in the distance. We are now
